Since 1956, ÐÁÓÈÀïÅ®ÓÅ Wesley has existed to serve the students, faculty, and staff
of our University — mind, body, and soul.
One way they have consistently served the ÐÁÓÈÀïÅ®ÓÅ community is by simply feeding
them. Food insecurity is an issue in Hammond, so providing a hot, healthy, and tasty
meal is a vital service to our students’ needs.
When the leaders at the Wesley Foundation heard that ÐÁÓÈÀïÅ®ÓÅ’s Food Pantry needed
someone to continue operating it during the Covid-19 pandemic, they jumped at the
chance. They served the students that could not return home, they streamlined systems,
secured food donations, and were able to offer extended hours. They now operate it
permanently.
And earlier this year, the Wesley collaborated with the ÐÁÓÈÀïÅ®ÓÅ Foundation to
create the Lion Pride Career Closet, an initiative that supplies new and gently used
professional attire for interviews, career fairs, networking events, and other career-related
events for ÐÁÓÈÀïÅ®ÓÅ students.
